1984: The Quote I chose.

I had chose a quote from pg. 34 near the end of the page. It was:

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed-if all records told the same tale-then the lie passed into history and became truth."

I chose this quote because, it really makes me think. What if, what we learn in school is all a lie, whats written in our textbooks is false?....scary. =/

  1. That is a really scary thought Amy...and I like this quote! It is interesting that many people believe history IS manipulated in our country. They believe that there are marked omissions from the textbooks that try to cover up aspects of our history that do not reflect America's proudest moments... for example: did you know Christopher Columbus committed mass genocide against the Arawack Indians and basically wiped out their entire population? Yet... we still celebrate him as a wonderful hero. This is just one example of many. Perhaps, it is not as glaring as Oceania, but an interesting thought nonetheless!
