P.A.

My name is Christian and I am a procrastinator.

so...?

-i was watching criminal minds tonight. and i seriously NEVER watch t.v. like maybe once a week? and i would just like to say that the one time i do watch t.v a week, i do not enjoy when anything relating to college english pops into my head. but...tonight...it did. so the one guy was talking about the killer and crap and he says "he wants them to know that no matter what he still gets to them" or something along those lines. and that made me think of Big Brother. like the killer knew that no matter what he did, the victims would always fear him and he would win in the end..and i feel like...thats big brother too? hmmm idk.
-and ms. stariha always says "you guys need to outline.." in that annoying teacher voice that i love so much:) but i cannot outline! i did the last quiz and then i screwed myself over on the last essay because i took to much time outlining...but idk how to shorten my outlines.? so i have a problem.

Outlining

So Mrs. Stariha always says "outline" And I know what she means since we've been doing outlining since middle school and it does help... But for some reason I feel like typical outlining doesn't really work for these test. I try to put my thoughts down in an organized form but until I find the exact quotes I want to use and everything else it just ends up being all over the place. Anyone have any suggestions on outlining for her test?

Winston's Sanity

I didn't get to mention this in today's discussion, but I would like to mention it now. When we talked about the "bullet entering the brain" it seemed to me more like Orwell took us back to the point where Winston started to "love" Big Brother. In this case it is obvious that the Party are manipulating people mentally so that has caused a new Party slogan to rise in my mind...

Sanity is Insanity

God Is Power

hahaha...I didn't post enough on that one week I got my wisdom teeth out. Whoops! hahaha...anyways, I know this is kind of random but this is what I was thinking during the discussion today. Well...through part of it anyways.

GOD IS POWER.

God is power, and therefore the government of Oceania is being compared to a god. Big Brother, as was said in class, is portrayed as 'All-knowing' and 'All-powerful' which are attributes that are known to be of God. Well...I thought it was interesting to make this comparison and it really caused me to stop and find different aspects. The government in Oceania is different because the people there were forced, like puppets, to 'love' and 'obey' the laws that 'didn't' exist. God doesn't force us all to love and follow Him even though it is in His power to do that. He gave us choice...and I think that this proves the argument that some people make that "Well, if God hated sin then why did He allow people to sin? Why doesn't He just 'make' us love Him?" Well, if we were all like robots, forced to love Him, then there wouldn't really be a commitment. If no one knew sin, no one would know the beauty of forgiveness...
I felt like taking it on in that view since we got close to it, but never really talked.

( I am eating a graham cracker! )

Oh, and I am going to try really hard on my test tomorrow to focus and not to put in little details that don't mean much. I tried outlining and getting information last time, but it didn't seem to work. I don't know, but it will be interesting.
I might write on here later about my thoughts and such, but I've got studying to do!!!
I just had someone sitting next to me describe the college english experience as, "She's destroying me in there." It's similar to the cage of rats in 1984...you know that the test is coming and its like that cage of rats coming at you. You'd do anything to shove that test onto someone else and escape. However, you don't have that choice to yell out, DO IT TO blahblahblah, you just have to sit there while the cage of rats devours your face off while you write 3 essays.
