Quotes

So... Im bored. Time to blog I guess.
I already shared one quote today but I did have another. The one that I said earlier was on page 153. "The rocket bombs which fell daily on London were probably fired by the Government of Oceania itself, just to keep people frightened." The idea of government setting of bombs and killing people just to keep control of everyone is crazy to even think about. Having to scare someone to keeps them following and obeying is just showing that you are afraid to be over taken.

The other quote I had was on page 131. "People who had grown up in the work of the Revolution, knowing nothing else, accepting the Party as something unalterable, like the sky, not rebelling against its authority but simply evading it, as a rabbit dodges a dog." So how I look at this one is like everyone being rabbits and the party being the dog. A dog has its territory and the rabbit knows its pretty much impossible to change that but it doesn't mean that the rabbit isn't going to travel into the dogs territory. The rabbit cant take down the dog, but it can run from it.

  1. Hahaha...I LOVE Your analogy at the end!!! With the little dogs and the bunny rabbits! Not only because it has to do with animals...but more so, it makes sense! =) Thanks! haha
