.....

ok so i find myself discovering somthing while reading this book. and even though i think im a little like evey character... i think im most like Nathan... i know that sounds horrible but service learning as Religion in my life and im very closed minded about it. IDK lets just hope we all do good on the test 2morrow.... let us pray

  1. noble, i agree. every character has different attributes that can portray to our personalities. I see ruth may, leah, an rachel all adding different aspects of my personality.
    i think we all can say something sorta similar to this.

I can see a little bit of myself in each of the characters--Ruth May's curiosity, Leah's logic, Adah's deep thoughts, Rachel's concern for a social life, Orleanna's longing, and Nathan's frustration. I have a hard time putting the book down sometimes because at some times it's like looking in a mirror!

  3. Good point taylor, maybe this is the what Kingsolver wants us to get out of the book. Each character represents a different part of every person. And maybe the conflicts in the story are examples of the conflicts that we have internally.

  4. Yes! I hope you guys got that out of class on Friday. Kinsgsolver is leading us to look at ourselves (hopefully with a mirror better than Rachel's) and assess who we are, what we do, and perhaps more importantly, what we DON'T do.
