Oh Boy! Oh Boy!

Well today we get to see the first contreversial issue debate. I'm really excited to see how they do. I'm glad our team is fourth that way we can get a better look at how the debates are suppose to go. Our group is doing good and we have a lot of interesting things to bring to the table in our discussion. I hope that everybody else will get into ours so it drags on for a while.
Henry.... we're counting on you!

Excited..

I am very excited to see the very first controversial issues presentation in our class. I have no doubt that the first group worked extremely hard, and I'm sure they will have great debate questions. Also, once the first group presents I think that all the other groups will have a feel for how everything flows, which will then make them want to work harder because they'll be excited to present!
Good luck everyone!

Whew!

I...Am...SO TIRED right now, and I'm not sure why...
But as long as I'm typing, I mine as well post a blog.
1984 is getting better.  Actually, a lot better.  I really love the way Orwell wrote it.  He makes it seem all the more believable with the words he uses.  Even if his predictions were off by more than 25 years.

I'm a tad anxious on my debate team.  We have to go second, and I'm not quite sure we can pull off a great performance...  I guess this is just a sign that I need to try harder!

So much 2do

Well this is my blog for the week! I've been trying to keep up with everything that has to be done: reading, writing essays, and researching for our class debate. I'm doing good, I just don't want to fall behind. My group has two more weeks to finish our group assignment, I just hope that it's good. After seeing the group go tomorrow, I'll probably have a better idea of how to set everything up. The book has gotten better the more we've read. I don't know how I did, but I hope I did well on the quiz yesterday!!!

It's Just Amazing...

I'm quite surprised that this week I have actually had time to sit and think a little bit to myself. With all the projects and assignments to keep track of, it really is amazing!! The topic of my brief ponder: the political love discussion we had during class earlier this week.
The government in 1984 seems kinda extreme and unusual for us and the relationship between citizens and officials seems anything but loving. However, our government in our country isn't that friendly either. All the political ads, slamming other politicians, and ANNOYING phone calls (that conveniently come during dinner) are our governments form of propaganda. Trying to convince citizens that their views are the right ones, their ideas are the best ones, and it goes on.
Not only getting their views pressed upon us, but we have to deal with the arguments between the political parties. I think it's quite silly to not vote for a perfectly fine (maybe even beneficial) piece of legislature just because it was put together by the other party. Democrat or Republican, if it's good for your country, state, or town, it should be no problem to vote for it.
Both governments are vastly different, but I can still see some ties to each other. When I find the time, it's really an interesting scenario to think about.
Now that we are a little farther in the book, it has been getting better. Tomorrows controversial issue should be fun, I like getting a good debate going within class. Maybe see you tomorrow Mrs. Stariha.

I am not really sure why, but I have been having a really hard time getting on here. This is really frustrating. I guess I am finally on now though so thats good.
I felt pretty good about the quiz which i wasn't to sure about at all. I was really nervous about it. I've just been stressing a lot about this class but my time management skills are getting much better so its getting a little bit easier. I know that its preparing me for college so in the end it will be a good thing.
