Learning from The Bluest Eye

Through reading The Bluest Eye I have learned more about myself. Some of the characters lacked control...just like me. I blame the way I am today on my past...which is true, but sometimes I use it as an excuse for my behavior. When Bri was talking about this in our group it really made me realize that about myself. When am I going to take responsibility for the way I am? When am I going to take control and change it? I'm glad we had that discussion. =) So I guess that'll be my new goal...to take control. Whether or not I will succeed...I don't know, but I will keep on fighting.
