To Emily Schucardt:
I would like to add something. In context of the New Testament. Rather than Exodus where the original "eye for and eye" verse is found.
Matthew 5:38-40
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well"

  1. Nioe. This was actually the verse I was thinking of, but I didn't remember where it was in the Bible! Thanks Laura.

  3. I say we just go back to the old western times and the murderer and the family member who wants him dead can just duel and whoever wins, wins....sounds like a perfect plan to me...or we can just cut their head off with a dull machete, or put them legs first through a plastic shredder, or tie all their limbs to different horses and make them run in different directions....
